People are dying

In Kuching, it has been estimated that the population is around 650 000 people and by the year of 2020, it will increase tremendously to a figure of 1.6 million people.

As the number of the population rapidly increases, yet the number of government hospital in Kuching is only one which is Hospital Umum Sarawak (Sarawak General Hospital) or so to be called HUS. By the fact of people getting sick everyday in by assume that is only 1% of the city population; the exact figure of 6 500 citizens; the hospital wouldn’t have the ability to occupy that massive number of patients at a time.

The recent expose by the hospital itself that it has only 800 beds does not help the citizens in the sense of health welfare. Therefore, there is an urge by the Sarawak government to have another general hospital in Kuching. Funny thing is that it is only being considered after the visit of the sixth (and perhaps the last Prime Minister from UMNO a.k.a Barisan Nasional) PM last two weeks ago.

Notice that the budget that has been present last year is what Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi called the “Concern Budget” but in the budget there is no what so ever fund for the Sarawak government to build a new general hospital in Kuching.

Where as you take into account that the size of Sarawak is almost as large as the peninsular yet the numbers of hospitals aren’t that much as theirs. People need treatment everyday and sometimes they need a quick treatment which the cause of the disease or injury could be fatal.

Someone might say that there are number of hospitals in Kuching and I truly agree with them except from one thing; THEY ARE PRIVATE HOSPITALS YOU FUCKING IDIOT!!!; and not many people from that 5% could earn themselves treatment from that kind of hospital, right? So what the use of the citizens to pay up taxes every year?

It is true that the Deputy Chief of Sarawak, Tan Sri George Chan said that the government would use the hospital-still-on-progress (forgot the name, pardon me) located in Kota Samarahan to be the second hospital because to build up a new hospital would take time, there is no budget for the new general hospital and it is already up to shape to be facilitate but the thing is the what-so-called-new-hospital only can accommodate 160 beds including the wards and the ICU.

I have to say that it is not FREAKING ENOUGH TO ACCUPY THE NUMBER OF FUTURE PATIENTS plus the hospital will be under renovation for extending the wards, rooms and beds. Does the patients are in need to hear the sound of construction where as they need plenty of rest and sleep? The answer is, surely not. Hence, there is no suitable solution for this problem either than build a new hospital. If the Four Point (a hotel in Kuching) and The Spring plus Boulevard (both are shopping complexes) could being build in a year; why not for that freaking new hospitals?

By time, this thing would gradually endure itself to the highest stake when the Sarawak general election almost meets itself to the meeting point. Taking the point of health welfare and the lack of enthusiasm of the federal government to wrap this issue, it would be a good turn away point for the opposition party to influence people. I mean, with the massive influenza epidemic around the globe, people would love to take the option of “I give you number hospitals and you will be treated” or by the excuse of the federal government “Wait until the presentation of the 2010 budget in the parliament and by the we put the number of fund to be included for health welfare to Sarawak” which I could say it going to be late by then.
